Food/Drink choices

Our physical, mental and spiritual health is key to how we experience life. Here are some of the things we do to give us the best health possible.
Do your own research and follow your heart and gut 🙂
I am sharing with you our lifestyle, you have to make a choice about your own, just make it an informed choice 🙂

Key tenets of our health philosophy

1 – Only eat organic food (or that which has been grown without the use of petrochemical/synthetic based pesticide/herbicide/fertilisers).

2 – Eat unprocessed foods (vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, herbs, spices, milk, eggs and unprocessed meat). Basically if it doesn’t look like ‘real food,’ clearly derived from a plant or animal source, then don’t eat it. Michael Pollan’s famous quote from In Defense of Food – “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants,” sums it up nicely.

3 – Eat a balanced diet in which you consume an array of naturally occurring colours and flavours.

4 – Prepare food yourself. This means you know exactly what you are eating.

5 – Follow your gut/heart when you eat. Do not be too dogmatic about these things.

Food and drinks

Good oil is good, bad oil is bad – Coconut oil, hemp seed oil, extra virgin olive oil and butter – All good for the body inside and out

Canola oil, soy oil and margarine are not good for you.

Eat plenty of strong flavoured and colourful foods, for example: Ginger, chilli, turmeric, garlic and fresh herbs.

We eat basically a non gluten diet.

Drink/eat lots of probiotics (these are full of good bacteria which inhabit our gut). Fermented foods/drinks like Kombucha, Kefir, Sauerkraut, Kimchi and yoghurt contain many probiotics. Pro-biotic tablets like inner health plus will also boost your good bacteria count.

Obviously no ‘soft drinks’ like colas.
